Luma
Luma, the AI companion who remembers you
Luma is an AI companion app for iPhone and Android. Your companion listens, remembers what matters to you, and is there whenever you want to talk. Every companion is an AI, not a person.
Luma is being tested and is not in the App Store or Google Play yet.
What you can do
- Chat by text and share photos.
- Talk out loud in a voice call.
- See, edit or forget anything your companion remembers.
- Pick a ready-made companion or create your own.
- Get a friendly check-in now and then, at most once a day, if you turn them on.
Questions
Is a Luma companion a real person?
No. Every companion is an AI. It can be wrong, and it is not a substitute for professional medical, mental health, legal or financial advice.
Is Luma free?
Yes. Luma is free to use, with fair limits: a set number of messages and photos each day, and a few voice calls each week.
What does Luma remember, and can I delete it?
Luma saves short facts from your chats, like your dog’s name or a job interview, so your companion can bring them up later. You can see, edit or forget any memory, download all your data, or delete your account in Settings.
Who can see my conversations?
They are private to your account. Messages are sent to OpenAI to write each reply, and we never sell your data or show you ads. If you report a reply, we look at that reply and the conversation around it to review the report.
Who is Luma for?
Adults aged 18 and over who want someone to talk to, think things through with, or keep them company.
Which languages does Luma speak?
English, Spanish, French, Portuguese, German, Italian, Arabic, Hindi, Japanese, Korean and Chinese. Each companion can talk in its own language.
Can Luma help in an emergency?
No. If you are in danger or thinking about harming yourself, contact local emergency services. In the US or Canada, call or text 988. Elsewhere, visit findahelpline.com.
